The Empire Strikes Back

» The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat held their annual 'Empire' weekend workshop on the 6th & 7th March. ID Teachers Rob Davison, Ronin Traynor and Sam Kahn who are all certified B.A.S.S.C. teachers, were invited to run classes at the workshop.

Topics taught included mask work, smallsword and bowie, contact sparring and group fighting for film.

The next B.A.S.S.C. weekend workshop, 'The Lion', will be held on the 6th and 7th November 2010. The theme will be East v West, exploring different weapon systems. Would a broadsword stand up to a katana, will Queensberry rules compare to Thai boxing, is a stick just a stick in the hands of monks from Europe or China?

ID Choreographer Ronin Traynor and other members of the ID Fight Unit will be heading to China to train with the Shaolin monks over the summer in preparation. More details in future news...
