Jan'12 Ready, Steady, Go.» It’s the first day of 2012 and ID Fight Unit members Dita Tantang and Ronin Traynor start off the year with some stage combat. Performing at Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition they presented great sword and small sword fights throughout the day. This is Dita’s fifth year fighting at the Globe Exhibition and Ronin’s tenth. It’s been a great privilege and great fun meeting Shakespearean fans from around the world. The Globe Exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to get an insight to Elizabethan dressing, traditional printing methods and sword play. Fight director Philip Stafford is on hand to talk the public through the development of the sword and its relevance to Shakespeare’s plays from Elizabethan times to present. As well as running the sword demonstrations Philip also made all the weapons that are used with many exact replicas of museum pieces. |
