Dan has almost finsihed a teaching apprenticeship under Master Marcello Marascalshi. This will lead to a full qualification as a BADC registered instructor. He is currently working as Marcello’s assistant at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) and Rose Bruford Drama School.
Dan has also trained with Youngblood and RC-Annie stage fighting classes, the BADC Summer Intensive, BASSC (British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat) Lion workshop, and has attended workshops under Tony Wolfe (Lord of the Rings) Richard Ryan (Troy), Phillip Stafford (Royal Ballet), Lloyd Caldwell, Tim Klotz, Nick Hall, Jonathon Leverett, Cameron Kendrick, Robert Westley, Roger Bartlett, Kev McCurdy, Chris Main and many more.
Weapon proficiencies include: Great sword/broad sword, single-handed broad sword, small sword, foil, epee, sabre, cutlass, rapier, buckler, swashbuckling, axe, spear, seax, quarterstaff, tomahawk, shield, hand gun, 22. Rifle, L98 Rifle, various handguns, knife, dagger, unarmed, long bow, recuve bow, karate, boxing, (period and modern), tae kwondo, Viking fighting styles and formation drill, Lord of the Rings, Orc and Ranger fighting styles.
Dan has completed three British Academy of Dramatic Combat (BADC) stage fighting awards (basic, intermediate and advanced), with a gold qualification in each, plus a recommendation at advanced level – the highest grade achievable.
Dan has also achieved British Standard Gold Star Awards in Fencing Proficiency with Foil, Epee and Sabre
